Triton Digital is owned by iHeartMedia, and offers MRC-accredited measurement services within a suite of tools helping broadcasters, podcasters and online music services to build their audience, maximize revenue and streamline their operations. Its offer includes IAB-certified Podcast Metrics and online audio measurement service Webcast Metrics.
The existing Podcast Metrics service allows publishers to evaluate the performance of their own programs: the new feature set provides a broader, industry-level view, aggregating data from all the podcasts it measures to reveal context, trends and competitive insights, analysed by downloads for each of the 20 countries separately, plus a global view.
A 'Download Benchmark' compares consumption of podcast shows and episodes, either alone or as a series, against the broader industry, either overall or within a specific country or genre. Market Share and audience composition data can be filtered by device family, genre, player or other characteristics. The concept has been tested in a pilot with BBC Studios.
Daryl Battaglia (pictured), the firm's SVP, Measurement comments, 'The introduction of these industry features marks a significant milestone in how publishers can understand their performance. For the first time, they can compare their growth, audience behavior, and market position against aggregated industry data measured by Triton. These insights give publishers a clearer path to identifying opportunities and communicating their value.'
