The company offers audience measurement, cross-media analytics and media validation tools in more than 60 markets worldwide. Kantar and its majority owner Bain Capital completed the sale of the division to London-based investment firm H.I.G. Capital six months ago, and in November the newly independent firm appointed former WPP Chief Exec Mark Read as Chairman of its new Board of Directors.
Walsh brings more than 30 years of experience, the last fifteen of them in the top job at LexisNexis, which he joined in 2006. Under his leadership the firm has moved from providing legal research to delivering AI-powered analytics, decision tools and workflow solutions, including recent launches for the Protégé workflows and Lexis+ AI solutions. Early in his career he spent three years apiece at Boston Consulting Group and at law firm Weil, Gotshal and Manges.
Nishant Nayyar, MD of H.I.G. Capital says the hire signals both Kantar Media's 'essential role in the media ecosystem' and H.I.G.'s 'ongoing commitment to backing it with exceptional leadership.' Patrick Béhar, CEO of Kantar Media adds: 'As Kantar Media embarks on our own journey of transformation and AI, Mike's experience at the forefront of delivering generative and agentic AI solutions that simplify and automate next level work for legal professionals will be invaluable to us.'
