Senior Moves and Appointment at RI

April 6 2005

Research International has moved Douwe Rademaker from CEO Netherlands to CEO Japan, replacing the departing Toshiya Ueki. The company also announced the arrival of Nicky Buss, previously at fellow WPP company Red Cell Network, in the new position of Client Services Director, UK.

Rademaker worked for RI in New York, as VP in the World Service Division worked for five years before joining for McKinsey & Co. as Engagement Manager in the Marketing Practice. He returned to RI as Dutch CEO in March 2003.

Yasuo Miki, Chairman of RI Japan believes that 'the same factors that made Douwe successful in Netherlands: people, a focus on sales and key account development, building an innovative offer and operational efficiencies will bring similar success in Japan. We would also like to thank Toshiya Ueki, for making a huge contribution both in Japan and to the wider Group. He leaves the company in a stronger position than he found it'.

Buss held the position of Global Strategic Planning Director at Red Cell for the last three years. She will be a member of Research International's UK Strategic Board and will work closely with Simon Lidington, CEO in the UK, on the development of a 'market leading client service culture'. Lidington says that Buss's 'expertise and knowledge gained from outside the market research industry will be invaluable' in the development of a partnership approach to client relationships.

Buss' career in consultancy, advertising and planning began as a consultant at OC&C/Booz Allen & Hamilton. Next she became the youngest planning director at Saatchi & Saatchi, VP Strategy & Planning at MTV Europe, Executive Planning Director and Managing Partner at the then Ammirati Puris Lintas (now Lowe), and latterly co-leader of the North American branding practice at McKinsey.
