Olivia Sanchez Torres has joined Kantar as Senior Director, Business Development for Qual Solutions, after more than thirteen years at YouGov. Separately, rumours in the UK press suggest a high-level move in the reverse direction may also be on the cards.
Sanchez Torres (pictured) worked for the Irish government as a Policy Researcher in the Department of the Taoiseach, before moving to London for four years at the non-profit Tavistock Institute of Human Relations. She joined YouGov in 2013 as a Qual Research Manager and by 2021 had risen to lead its UK Qual business. During this time she grew the global qual team from 8 to 21 researchers and spent time in the company's Mexico City office.
Separately, reports in Sky News at the weekend suggest YouGov is actively seeking a long-term replacement CEO, nearly eighteen months after co-founder Stephan Shakespeare resumed on an 'interim basis'. Shakespeare previously held the role for ten years. Sky News - which has generally had a good inside track on YouGov in the past - says Kantar UK Chief Client Officer Wayne Levings is 'among the contenders'. That seems fairly speculative to us and YouGov has declined to comment, hence it's a footnote here and not in its own article...
