Rival Adds MCP Access, Debuts Syndicated Report Series

July 27 2026

In Canada, Rival Technologies has become the latest in the sector to allow clients to use Model Context Protocol (MCP) to incorporate proprietary research data from its platform into GenAI applications. Rival also has a new syndicated intelligence offering, the Emerging Consumer Index.

Andrew ReidRival Technologies and its sister company Reach3 Insights merged with the Angus Reid Group (ARG) in May last year, under the Rival Group name, creating a company with projected revenues of more than $60m and operations in five US and Canadian cities.

Rival Technologies offers a conversational research platform which powers insight communities, Voice of Market and experiential research. The company says its addition of the MCP open standard builds on 'years of open APIs and integrations,' and gives brands with existing agentic workflows into their insights function a standardized, two-way connection to the Rival platform.

Separately, the new Emerging Consumer Index tracks affluent Gen Z and Millennial consumers across the United States and Canada, and is soon to be joined by other syndicated intelligence offerings. Data is collected every two weeks, and according to the company lets subscribers investigate topics 'well beyond the findings of a traditional report.' data. Rival is currently collecting its fourth wave of data and will make the Index available after the sixth wave, with delivery planned through quarterly reports, ongoing data subscriptions and data marketplaces.

CEO and founder Andrew Reid (pictured) states: 'Our clients are already building agentic workflows into how they run insights. Rival MCP gives them the flexibility to work with their data on their own terms, pulling trusted human research into the AI systems they already use, and bringing those systems into the process before a single question is asked. It's an investment in how insights teams will actually work as AI becomes part of everyday operations.'
