In Boston, MA, B2B intelligence, media and marketing solutions firm TechTarget has reported a 3.2% decline in second quarter revenue, to $116.1m; and a 13% decline in adjusted EBITDA to $15.05m, reflecting 'a subdued market'. However, the firm reaffirmed its forecast of full year growth in both figures.
The current group is the result of the acquisition of US-based b2b purchase intent specialist TechTarget by UK company Informa Plc, approved in November 2024. The British B2B services group paid $350m in cash to combine its digital businesses - including Omdia and Information Week - with tech publisher and advertising / lead generation specialist TechTarget, taking a majority stake in the new company.
In 2025 the combined company got off to a steady and profitable start, and reporting this in March it forecast a return to revenue growth for 2026, as well as a further year-on-year increase in adjusted EBITDA to between $95.0 million and $100.0 million. So far this continued uptick hasn't materialised, but the firm has reiterated the guidance, citing 'commercial momentum' through a strategy to focus on its largest customers and highest growth markets, along with a number of other positives for the second half. These include new product launches and partnerships, AI innovation including its first commercially available MCP, audience and membership growth, and balance sheet strength.
CEO Gary Nugent (pictured) comments: 'We remain focused on our growth initiatives and are committed to delivering year-over-year growth in 2026. While customer spending reflects a challenging market backdrop, the fundamentals of our business continue to strengthen. Our opportunity pipeline is expanding significantly as we focus our go-to-market efforts on our largest customers and our highest growth markets. As we move through the second half our focus is on converting this growing pipeline, further enhancing our product portfolio, and driving profitable growth through the operating leverage inherent in our business model.'
