NetRatings Adds Singapore DataCentre

May 3 2005

Nielsen//NetRatings has announced a long-term partnership agreement with Singapore-based information & communications company StarHub, to boost its Internet measurement analytics service in the Asia Pacific region using StarHub's advanced Internet Data Centre.

The Centre, which is Nielsen//NetRatings' 13th around the globe and seventh in Asia Pacific, will measure Internet traffic from Singapore and Hong Kong, plus the growing number of incoming page impressions from India, Malaysia, Korea and Taiwan. The other Asia Pacific centres are in Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Auckland and Melbourne.

Nielsen//NetRatings' Singapore MD Patricia Poo says the service's popularity combined with the rapid growth of Internet usage in the region has pushed the growth of the company's investments even faster than anticipated. Michael Robertson, Nielsen//NetRatings' Melbourne-based Operations Director for Asia Pacific and Latin America, says the flexibility of StarHub's co-location and IP services, with room for further major expansion of capacity, was a key factor in the choice.

Philomena Tan, Project Manager for StarHub's Multimedia team says that as existing customers of Nielsen//Netratings' analytics service SiteCensus, her company understand the behaviour of its own users and also the wider importance of this kind of service.

NetRatings, Inc. is a sister company to ACNielsen and Nielsen Media Research, and on the web at www.nielsen-netratings.com . StarHub operates 3G, GSM and broadband over platforms including fixed, mobile, Internet and digital cable. It is online at www.starhub.com
