In the US, Livepanel, the research company responsible for synthetic response modelling platform N-Infinite, has received an investment from mktresearchguy LLC, an advisory firm founded by insights veteran Scott Worthge.
Livepanel's proprietary technology provides a self-managed SaaS platform for research and data processing, including validation and modelling of data. Its N-Infinite platform uses machine-learning and generates synthetic responses from real respondent profiles - the firm stresses its 'sample boosting' approach does not 'create' people, but models likely answers based on real panelists' answers. N-Infinite is language- and country-agnostic, and helps with two specific areas - completing or expanding hard-to-reach quotas by generating high-fidelity synthetic responses modeled on real panelists who did not respond to the current questionnaire; and completing incompletes - recovering abandoned surveys from as little as 30% completion.
The firm has now signed a strategic partnership with mktresearchguy LLC, founded last year by Scott Worthge, Worthge's more than thirty-five years in market research include spells at MFour, Instantly, TNS, Greenfield Online, Dun and Bradstreet and Frost & Sullivan - and alongside this he has taught market research and applied analytics at the university level for more than 25 years, including at UC Berkeley Extension and Michigan State University's Master of Science in MR program. mktresearchguy aims to give research buyers and providers alike 'an unbiased, experience-based read on which emerging solutions are ready for real-world use, and how to implement them responsibly at scale'.
Worthge says that because AI is 'such a transformative technology, adopting it responsibly requires deep know-how, real operating experience, and sustained time invested in understanding how each solution actually performs for day-to-day business decisions.' He comments: 'I don't back a technology until I've spent real time testing what it can and can't do. Over three years of looking closely at synthetic data modeling, Livepanel and N-Infinite have shown the kind of rigor, transparency, and real-panelist grounding that this category needs to earn the industry's trust. I'm convinced the question is no longer 'does augmentation work?' and has become 'what are the best applications and processes for augmentation to provide real solutions to industry problems we've seen worsening for years?'.
Livepanel's Leonardo Valente says of the deal: 'Scott has spent years pressure-testing this category from the outside, asking the questions that matter most to research buyers. Having his independent perspective and experience behind us as we grow N-Infinite is exactly the kind of validation this category needs.'
