Bilendi Adds Ask BARI Conversational Interface

October 5 2026

In Paris, panels and research tech firm Bilendi has announced a major upgrade to its AI-powered Discuss qual research platform, based around a conversational interface for its AI assistant BARI.

Marc BidouBilendi has more than 600 employees and local teams across 22 offices worldwide, supporting more than 2,700 clients with access to proprietary online panels of more than 4 million people across 44 countries. The firm also offers specialised solutions for recruiting and conducting UX tests.

Relaunched with a new AI core three years ago, Discuss is the company's qual platform, interfacing with participants on their most commonly-used channels, including WhatsApp, Messenger and the web. BARI (Bilendi Artificial Research Intelligence) taps advanced prompt engineering techniques for ChatGPT, developed by Bilendi staff - automating much of the qual analysis process to reduce time and costs; and delivers summaries of research results, as well as efficient analysis of large volumes of diverse response types.

The new release promises to 'make engagement effortless and natural for everyone,' assisted by a new 'Ask BARI' natural language query interface - the firm says this 'eliminates hours of manual data navigation.' Analysis is not its sole purpose - researchers can also query fieldwork progress, and for multi-country studies, Ask BARI identifies cultural nuances during early fieldwork, enabling proactive project steering before data collection finishes. It will also recommend unexplored angles, follow-up questions, and thematic connections to deepen analysis.

In addition to Ask BARI, the new Discuss also has features for boosting engagement across every stage of fieldwork: specifically i Individual engagement with BARI Moderator Personas; enhanced community engagement, via a reimagined, social-style Web Porta; and a Conversational channel, described as 'a brand-new way to engage participants one-on-one in a fully browser-based environment.'

CEO and founder Marc Bidou (pictured) says the launch is 'the biggest news of the year for Bilendi Discuss.' He states: 'By making our AI BARI more agentic and conversational, we are enabling our clients to converse directly with their data just as they would with a human analyst. This paradigm shift drastically reduces the time from data collection to deep, actionable insight.'
