ACNielsen Analyses Canadian Sales

July 15 2005

ACNielsen Canada has launched 'What's in Store' - a new tool for the management and analysis of sales data for individual retail outlets.

What's in Store turns weekly point-of-sale data into user-friendly, web-based information about individual stores. Information about individual items is made available to manufacturers within two days. The company hopes the data will allow both shops and manufacturers to plan and analyse sales and promotions more effectively.

Katz Group Canada Ltd, Canada's largest retail pharmacy network, has tested the new tool. Rui Martins, Director of Merchandise Services and Distribution Service at Katz believes the new service offers 'substantial long-term benefits' to both manufacturers and retailers, stating that it 'delivers store-by-store insight at unprecedented levels of speed to help everyone improve their results more cost-effectively'.
