Ipsos Expands US Public Affairs and Opens in Seattle

Ipsos has appointed Thomas Miller as Regional Senior VP and MD of Ipsos Public Affairs in the US, and Nicolas Boyon as Senior VP of the practice. The company has also announced the opening of a new office in Seattle to serve the needs of clients in the region.

Miller has 30 years' experience as a market researcher, marketing strategist, and public opinion pollster. Prior to joining Ipsos, he was with RoperStarch Worldwide (now part of Gfk-NOP) for 20 years. As board member and MD, he was responsible for the company's brand strategy and international research practices, as well as its global and domestic syndicated services. Before working at Roper, he was MD of Hudson Research Europe, a futures think tank based in Paris. He was a founding board member of Business for Diplomatic Action (BDA), and serves as Chair of its development committee.

Boyon's experience includes more than 20 years of managing research into attitudes, lifestyles, public opinion, corporate reputation, and brand positioning. He also comes to Ipsos from Roper, where he worked for 12 years and headed an international custom research practice. He has also spent ten years working for Sofres (now part of TNS) in Paris.

Speaking of his appointment, Miller said: 'In the 1990s, market research went global; in this new millennium, our understanding of public issues will also go global. That's what Ipsos Public Affairs plans to do'.
