IBM Introduces Blog Monitor

IBM has announced a new software solution to help businesses track and analyse their coverage in the rapidly developing sphere of Consumer Generated Media (CGM), which includes blogs and news groups. The Public Image Monitoring Solution was developed in collaboration with Nstein Technologies and Factiva.

The solution combines three elements:

  • IBM expertise in text analytics and semantic search technology, from its WebSphere Information Integrator OmniFind Edition
  • multi-lingual text analytics from Nstein Technologies which 'allows organizations to identify 'hot topics' as well as analyze tone, facts, opinions, events, locations, and indirect alliances to detect early trends and emerging problems', and
  • Factiva content including news feeds and published articles.
'Companies are seeking new ways to better understand how they are viewed by customers, investors and other stakeholders who have an impact on their brand reputation', says Jon Prial, VP, IBM Content Management and Discovery. 'This solution can help clients track and analyze the pulse of the public in real-time, allowing organizations to be more responsive and deliver better service to their customers.'
