Indian MR outsourcing company Ugam Solutions has opened a 2nd operations centre in Mumbai, increasing its capacity from 425 to more than 1,000 staff. The company has launched a CATI service and announced its entry into the high-growth arena of marketing analytics.

Ugam describes itself as India's largest provider of outsourced services to the global Market Research Industry, and offers survey programming, data cleaning and tabulation, verbatim management (coding of open ended responses), report writing and panel support services.

The new 32,000 sq. ft. facility is located at Prism Towers, Mindspace, Malad in Mumbai and will have a seating capacity of over 600 people across all shifts.

CEO Sunil Mirani says the company has consolidated its position as leader in the high-end outsourced market research industry. 'We have clocked 100% year-on-year growth over the past four years and hope to continue growing at the same rate in the future. With the current expansion, we have re-endorsed our commitment to delivering the highest quality of services to our clients worldwide.' Ugam says it has aggressive expansion plans, aiming for 3000+ employees by the year 2009.

The CATI service will be launched from Ugam's new center at Malad and will have a seating capacity of 250+, catering to both B2B and consumer sectors. The center will use Nortel voice switches, EPABX, and a high speed fixed line IPLC between India & the US.

The marketing analytics offer will include data modeling, data mining and advanced statistical analysis, for both survey and transactional data. Chairman Raj Nair points to 'a growing confluence between market research (which analyzes the consumer attitude) and data mining (which analyzes consumer behavior). With the addition of these new services, we believe we will be able to help clients get a more holistic understanding of their consumers.'
