Tan to Lead Nielsen Media in Malaysia

Rebecca Tan, who formerly led Nielsen Media's business in Singapore, is taking on the new position of Executive Director for both Singapore and Malaysia. She will spearhead both countries' operations, including the advertising expenditure tracking and custom media research businesses.

In Malaysia, Tan is taking the reins from Danyal Malik Abdul who is moving to AGB Nielsen Media Research, Nielsen's joint TV ratings venture with AGB. Tan will continue to report to Richard Basil-Jones, MD of Nielsen Media Research Asia Pacific, based in Australia.

Tan joined the company in 1998 as Associate Director for the TV Rating Services and was promoted to Director of Media Services in 1999. She then became Executive Director for Singapore in 2003. Prior to joining Nielsen, she was Director of Marketing at Sir Stamford Raffles Club and Assistant VP of Airtime Sales at Singapore Television Twelve.

Basil-Jones describes Tan as a 'media research veteran who has made a significant contribution to growing our business in Singapore'.
