Nielsen Move to Align Global Marketing

ACNielsen has added responsibility for Europe to the Asia Pacific role of its Executive Director, Corporate & Marketing Communications, Lisa Lee. The move promises closer alignment for the firm's global branding and marketing strategy.

Lee is already responsible, in addition, for Nielsen Media Research Asia Pacific and has global branding and marketing communications responsibilities for ACNielsen and the VNU Marketing Information Group. She joined ACNielsen in 1994 and was relocated to Sydney from Singapore in 1999. In her new role, she will drive aggressive marketing and communications programs.

Nielsen also says its Sydney office is emerging as a regional and global management hub. Tom Markert, who himself spent three years in Sydney as CEO, ACNielsen Pacific is now Senior VP, Global Marketing for VNU's MI Group, including ACNielsen. He comments: 'Communications is a priority at ACNielsen. I am confident that under Lisa's proven leadership, we will develop increasingly focused and effective communications programs across regions and globally, leveraging best practices and supporting the company's aggressive marketing plans'.
