Stellar Growth for ToLuna

April 4 2006

AIM-listed online MR company ToLuna has reported results for the year 2005. The figures suggest that like YouGov (see today's news), To Luna has seen revenues almost treble during the year.

The figures are ToLuna's first year end results to be announced since the company's placing and admission to AIM on 10th May 2005, when it acquired Cjudge. Furthermore, ToLuna itself was incorporated on 16th March as a new holding company for the group so figures are difficult to compare.

Actual profit before tax for the period from May '05 was £430,000 and revenue £2.1m. Proforma figures extrapolate the results of the group for the full year ended 31 December 2005 as if it had been in existence for the full year, and give £756,000 profit before tax and turnover of £3 million. The proforma figures suggest growth of 2.8 times turnover and c.22 times profit before taxation.

ToLuna offers three core services to the market research industry: access to its online panellists; creation of dedicated online panels; and licensing of its own hosted proprietary technology. All three areas contributed to the strong growth shown.

The company has moved to create a pan-European presence with new offices in London and in Frankfurt, to add to the existing Paris base. It bought German online pioneer Speedfacts for £2.06 million in December 2005. The number of online panellists signed up has risen by more than 500,000 to 875,000 in thirteen European countries.

Commenting on the results, Chairman George Kynoch said, 'I'm delighted the results reflect the Group's continuing strong performance and are significantly ahead of management expectations. Demand for all our services continues to grow as market research companies switch an increasing proportion of their market research online.'

ToLuna's shares, which were priced at 70p in the AIM float, have recently traded at 130p. Kynoch says the strong growth seen in 2005 has continued into the current year, with revenue in the first quarter of £1.4 million, up c.260% versus the same period in 2005.
