Beaumont Catches CGM Wave

Jon Beaumont has left Continental Research, where he led the media division, to join online consumer generated media (CGM) specialist WaveMetrix. His role as Chief Research Officer will include development of the firm's fast-growing client roster.

Beaumont will also take responsibility for methodology, quality and client deliverables. He has 15 years of MR experience including time at BMRB International, and has worked for clients including BSkyB, eBay, Electronic Arts, Honda, Mindshare, Procter & Gamble and Sony.

WaveMetrix was founded in 2003, has around twenty staff and is based in Central London. It uses a mix of technology and human analysts to provide detailed statistics and granular qualitative insight from online discussion forums, blogs and online communities. The company recently added its tenth Fortune 500 customer.

Beaumont comments: 'I'm hugely excited about the opportunities available to companies from listening to their customers online. I want to help advertisers, media owners and their research agencies extract and leverage the wealth of customer insight that's available.'
