ToLuna has announced a dedicated panel for European mobile telecommunications, to be drawn from its core European panel of 1.1 million active members. TolunaMobile™ is described as 'Europe's most highly profiled online mobile telecoms research panel'.

Existing panels use selections such as network, monthly spend, device, model and features for profiling purposes. The new service adds profiling by use type, with particular attention paid to online users and identifying 3G handsets, frequency of and reason for online use, volume of use including type of download (e.g. logo, ring-tone, MP3, game and video downloads), type of contract and purchase intent.

It also promises quick targeting of adopters of new technologies such as VOIP, and mobile-only households; and allows ToLuna to provide fast and accurate feasibility assessments on niche use segments.

The service is one of 13 specialist panels set up by ToLuna in response to client demands for vertical specialisation. The company says TolunaMobile already has the backing of several large European MR agencies and 'forms the basis for several high profile telecoms studies'.

According to CEO Frederic Charles-Petit, 'The rapid technological changes in the mobile market means researchers need sample for ever more granular and continually evolving segments. It is imperative we are responsive to our clients needs, hence the ToLunaMobile™ panel.'
