Buy Out for UK Fieldwork Firm

September 26 2006

Qual recruitment and fieldwork agency Criteria chose the occasion of its tenth birthday party at the London Aquarium last Friday to announce its independence from former parent Discovery Research. MD and founder Elaine Francis has bought Discovery's 50% stake with the aim of sharing ownership with others at Criteria.

Director James Sainsbury, who will be the first new shareholder, told DRNO the move would open up the possibility of shares for others in the company as and when more directors are appointed.

Both parties have stressed that the separation is entirely amicable. Discovery will continue to make use of Criteria's fieldwork services - it is currently one of its major clients but not the largest.

Criteria, which has a full-time staff of sixteen, prides itself on its in-depth involvement in projects and its candour with clients regarding the feasibility of fieldwork options. Its new web site is launched today at www.criteria.co.uk .
