Ciao Strengthens European Team

Ciao, the European company of online survey solutions provider Greenfield Online, has hired a new Director of Panels, Cyril Stern, and promoted several key sales and marketing executives within its European organization.

Stern joined in September and will be based in Paris, where he began his career as a consultant for GfK Marketing Services. Prior to joining Ciao, he founded the Internet company PTV Online, which he has recently sold. His new role will be to work with the global panel team on improving the quality and reach of its panels worldwide and developing innovative ideas for recruiting survey respondents.

The promotions are: Richard Thornton to VP Client Development for the UK & Ireland, Australia and Southern Europe, including France; Bernd Hacker to VP Client Development for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux and the Nordic countries; Christophe Deguignet to Director Client Development for Southern Europe (France, Italy and Spain); Tom Meyritz to Head of New Channel Development for Europe; Emmanuel Bertrand to Senior Marketing Director, Ciao Internet Survey Solutions; and Leslie Abell, previously a Ciao Client Development Director, to the new position of Director of Global Pricing Strategy. Abell will work with both the Ciao and Greenfield Online teams and establish a global pricing model.

Recently promoted MD Nicolas Metzke says the company now has 'a dedicated and experienced group of managers' with 'the right mix of experience, smart thinking and determination' to make Ciao a great company to work for and to address what Greenfield CEO Albert Angrisani identified as 'the increasingly competitive Internet survey solutions marketplace in Europe.'
