Virtual Surveys Goes Green

November 1 2006

As part of its Environmental and CSR policies, Virtual Surveys in the UK has today launched a 25 point action plan to reduce the impact its business has on the environment.

They have developed guidelines for all employees to reduce their environmental footprint. The plan covers everything from reducing air travel, ensuring all electrical devices are turned off at night through to using eco friendly products. It has also teamed up with The Woodland Trust and is offsetting its remaining carbon emissions by planting trees in the UK under the Carbonplus+ scheme.

As a measure of its belief in the importance of the issue, Virtual Surveys is sponsoring the carbon neutral status of the forthcoming MRS conference in Brighton.

Speaking about the move Pete Comley, chairman, said, "We read every day in the papers about the problems of climate change. Although large corporates have been making their businesses more environmentally conscious, we are not aware that many research agencies have taken action yet."
