Nielsen Offers 'Complete Coverage' of Category Data Sources,70785

Nielsen's consumer goods analytics unit Decisions Made Easy has launched 'Nielsen Complete Coverage', an online application which it claims provides 'a more robust and reliable analysis' of markets and category performance.

The system is based on the unit's existing Crunch™ data integration tool for Retailer Direct Data, and Cipher Web®, a reporting and data analysis tool; and is delivered via the Nielsen Answers web portal. It integrates Retailer Direct point of sale (POS) data, ScanTrack and Channel Views information, syndicated data, and the customer's own internal data to give an overall picture of the market and category performance.

According to Andy Matthews, VP of Sales and Marketing for Decisions Made Easy, 'Nielsen Complete Coverage helps our clients make better strategic decisions and identify new business opportunities by providing 'big picture' visibility into retailer benchmarking and category and market measurement.'

Nielsen says the application's other benefits include helping customers to discover where a retailer is missing a trend occurring in the broader market, and assessing the impact of retailer tactics and strategies.
