NetRatings and comScore to Meet IAB This Month

Online measurement firms comScore and Nielsen//NetRatings have agreed to a meeting on May 16th to discuss their plans with the IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) and other groups, following the exchange of open letters last week with IAB CEO Randall Rothenberg.

The meeting will be a closed session and is likely to include representatives from the ANA (Association of National Advertisers), the AAA (American Association of Advertisers), the Online Publishers Association, and the IAB.

At the beginning of last week, the IAB welcomed initial responses from the two firms but called for the agreement of a timetable for the process (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6708.htm ) – the meeting is apparently a rapid response to this.

Both firms are already committed to or undergoing third party assessments, NetRatings having already completed the Media Ratings Council's pre-audit process and committed to full MRC accreditation, and comscore begun an evaluation of its methodology by the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF).
