July 6 2007

In Sydney, GfK has announced that it has promoted Neville Ray to the position of Senior Account Director covering consumer electronics, imaging and telecoms accounts. Meanwhile GfK-Nürnberg's Dr Raimund Wildner has been named the German MR Personality of the Year.

Ray has worked with GfK for the past 8 years - initially in the UK and for the last 3 years with GfK Australia. Before the promotion, he managed the firm's IT industry measurements.

Gwenno Hopkin, GfK's Commercial Director commented: 'In this time, Neville has established himself as a market expert within the highly technical IT markets, and is well-placed to oversee the development of these additional industry segments, as the technologies between them continue to converge.'

Ray replaces Derek Nash who has left the company after three years to pursue other interests. Hopkin thanked him for his contribution to the business and wished him all the best in his future endeavours.
