Travel and Leisure Panels Launched

July 10 2007

Research Now has announced two new specialist UK panels, covering business and leisure travel habits; and sports and leisure, respectively.

The panels are sourced from 'intensive screening' of the firm's 400,000-strong UK proprietary online consumer panel and offer fast access to low incidence groups within the sectors.

The Travel Panel divides business travellers on criteria including frequency of travel, mode of transport taken, airports used, destinations travelled to and business hotel use, while leisure travellers can be analysed by method of holiday booking, travel media used, destinations travelled to, airports used, car hire supplier and mobile phone use when abroad. It also includes a sub-panel of travel sector workers and those responsible for booking business travel.

The Sports and Leisure Panel covers participation in over 30 different sports activities from marathon running to extreme sports to skiing and golf; and 25 different leisure interests, including bingo, bird-watching, camping, climbing, rambling and yoga.

The firm already has specialist panels for Automotive, B2B, Media, Telecoms, Financial, Consumer Healthcare and Mums Opinions, and operates consumer panels in twenty nations worldwide encompassing more than 1.5 million active members.

Last week Research Now's shares enjoyed a bumpy ride, plunging to around half their former value on Monday and Tuesday with news of a profits warning (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6995.htm ), then regaining about a quarter of the loss later in the week when its first half results (www.mrweb.com/drno/news7010.htm ) appeared to remind analysts that it had after all trebled its revenue on the year and that losses, 'though unexpected, were not exactly crippling.

An independent public company quoted on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, Research Now has 11 offices in Europe, North America and Australia, and a web site at www.researchnow.co.uk.
