Coburn Joins Truth

In the UK Neil Coburn, previously Head of Client and Business Development at Synovate, is to join Andy Dexter's new consultancy Truth, as a senior partner.

Neil CoburnHigh-flyer Coburn joined The Research Business International (TRBI) in 1998 and founded the Ad Research Unit, where he devised ad and brand tracking service 360º. In 2002 he was promoted to Head of Client Relationships across TRBI, later joining the UK board of Synovate as Head of Client and Business Development. He began his career as a client side researcher, at Allied Domecq and L'Oreal, then spent five years at Research International rising rapidly to Deputy Head of RI Advertising and Media. He was then headhunted at the age of 30 to join Hall & Partners as UK Chairman and MD.

At Truth, launched in March this year, he will focus on the development of key accounts and consultancy solutions, with a focus on the development of strategic quantitative, analytic, and multi-method consulting business. Coburn comments: 'after spending most of my working life at big companies... I realised the time was right to do something more entrepreneurial and exciting - and to feel passionate about it.' Dexter describes Coburn as 'one of the leaders amongst the new generation of heavyweights in our industry.'

Truth, which bills itself as giving 'maximum insight, minimum data', already has ten staff and recently hired a junior partner from Synovate, qual specialist Tim Parker. Parker will work on a range of qualitative, semiotic, cultural, and co-creation initiatives. The firm's web site is at www.truth.ms.
