New Nielsen Healthcare Unit Builds Team

August 23 2007

Recently launched NielsenHealth has appointed Paul Coggin as VP, Healthcare Marketing and Sales and Ron Timmerman as VP, Health Panel Services.

Coggin was most recently Managing Partner of healthcare analysis and advisory firm New Pharma Group. Prior to this he held clientside marketing and financial leadership positions at Pfizer and Merck-Medco (now Medco Health Solutions) where he helped develop and launch health management programmes. A Yale MBA graduate, Coggin has spoken at industry trade events, contributed to a healthcare text book, and served as the inaugural co-chair of Yale's largest multi-sector healthcare symposium.

Timmerman has more than 20 years' information services experience gained in the healthcare and consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries. He previously held several senior positions at Nielsen, including VP, Homescan Operations and Global Consumer Marketing. Prior to re-joining the firm, he was VP and General Manager of Cardinal Health's Strategic Healthcare Solutions and Executive VP at ImpactRx, where he was responsible for overseeing application engineering, information technology and physician panel operations.

According to Matt Dumas, Managing Director of NielsenHealth: 'Paul and Ron are both well-respected healthcare industry veterans, bringing unique sets of skills, insights and expertise that will greatly benefit our clients.'

NielsenHealth was launched earlier this month to offer clients 'consumer centric' analytical tools to help them understand and address the attitudes, behaviours and needs of patients and physicians (www.mrweb.com/drno/news7162.htm ).
