Tizard Turns to the Bottle

In London, GfK NOP has recruited Ric Tizard as Divisional Director in its Consumer Products & Retail division. Perhaps seeking a change from a diet of mostly-telecoms research, he will now oversee the international Brand Equity Monitor for Scotch Whisky firm Chivas Brothers.

Ric TizardTizard joins with more than 20 years' experience. Most recently he worked at Synovate, where as Research Director he managed a multi-country brand tracking survey for an international telecoms client. Prior to this, he worked as Associate Director for Accent, managing surveys in the utilities, travel and tourism and telecoms sectors. He also has more than 16 years' client-side market research experience, gained at BT as Market Research Manager and previously as Market Research Manager for KPM Holland.

Divisional MD Steve Thomson comments: 'Our clients rely on us not just to provide insight, but also to work with them in identifying and investigating issues brought to light by the research findings. Ric is ideally positioned to provide this, having first-hand brand research expertise, and also the perspective and understanding of broader business needs that come from a strong client-side background.'

For the final quarter of 2007, parent firm GfK Group posted organic growth of 6.5% and a margin of 16.8% - a figure the firm says is the most successful in its history (www.mrweb.com/drno/news8023.htm ).
