NRC Buys Senior Care Data Specialist

Lincoln, Nebraska-based health care specialist National Research Corp. is to acquire privately held My InnerView Inc. (MIV) in an all-cash transaction of undisclosed size.

The transaction is expected to close by year end, subject to conditions including MIV shareholder approval.

MIV provides quality and performance improvement solutions to the senior care profession, working with more than 8,000 providers throughout the US, and holds the country's largest dataset of senior care satisfaction metrics. Based in Wausau, Wisconsin, it has customers in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, and has 19 of the top 20 largest nursing home companies as clients for its benchmarking database, web-based tools, analytics, and knowledge resources.

NRC's President and CEO Michael D. National Research, which acquired the Picker Institute's healthcare survey business in 2001 to form the NRC Picker division, estimates that My InnerView will take around $7.3m in revenue in 2008. According to NRC's CFO Pat Beans, MIV's historical track record for profitability means his firm expects the acquisition to be immediately accretive to 2009 earnings.

My InnerView will retain its identity, with senior managers Gulsvig (President) and Janice Gulsvig (COO).
