OTX Hires MDs for East and West

Jim Nyce and Howard Ballon Hi-tech researcher OTX (Online Testing eXchange) has hired Howard Ballon as EVP Managing Director OTX West and Jim Nyce as EVP Managing Director OTX East. Both will report to Bruce Friend, President Client Development.

Ballon was most recently President of Nielsen Film & Home Entertainment in Los Angeles where he managed Nielsen NRG, Nielsen TV and Nielsen EDI, the global box office data provider. He announced last year that he would be leaving the firm to 'pursue other opportunities'.

In his new role, Ballon will be based in the firm's Los Angeles headquarters and oversee OTX's Digital Media Group and the packaged goods and services business.

Nyce joins with a 30 year client side career as Head of Research for many major global brands including Pepsi and Tropicana. Most recently, he was SVP, Global Consumer Insight & Strategy for Kraft Foods. He has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF) and on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the Marketing Science Institute. Nyce will be located in the firm's New York City offices.

OTX, which specialises in research products and analysis for the marketing, entertainment and advertising communities, has offices in London, Los Angeles, New York, Cincinnati, Chicago and Miami.

The firm recently launched a new business intelligence tool and tracking service which aggregates consumer data on hundreds of games on a weekly basis, and forecasts future consumer behaviour around each title.
