MarketShare Hires Former IBM and Yahoo! Execs

In the US, marketing analytics provider MarketShare has hired former IBM strategist Jeanette Carlsson as EVP and Managing Director/EMEA, while Yahoo! Japan's ex-VP of Marketing Shigeyuki Tomomatsu joins as EVP and Managing Director/Japan.

MarketShare provides a combination of technology, data, modeling, and business intelligence solutions from its operations in Los Angeles, California, San Francisco, New York, London, Toyko and Bangalore.

Earlier this month, the firm acquired marketing metrics specialist MarketingNPV, while in August, the company bought business intelligence and data analytics provider JovianDATA.

In 2009, the firm received funding from Elevation Partners, whose MD and co-Founder is Bono, the lead singer of the rock band U2.

Carlsson joins after a ten year career with IBM, where she latterly worked as Business Strategy and New Media Leader. Prior to this, she was a Principal Consultant at PwC, and worked for Omega Partners, BDO Stoy Hayward, Coopers & Lybrand, and the EU Commission in Brussels.

Tomomatsu has almost 20 years' experience working in the consumer sector. While at Yahoo! Japan, he led a marketing team of more than 80 people and was responsible for all marketing activities. Before this, he served as Director of Strategic Planning and Brand Communication at GE Consumer Finance, and held various senior executive positions at Coca-Cola Japan, Johnson & Johnson, Dentsu, and Young & Rubicam.
