Decision Resources Buys Biopharma Specialist

July 25 2011

In the US, Decision Resources has acquired consulting and MR firm PharmaStrat, a specialist in reimbursement and organized customer segments for biopharma manufacturers; and has also announced a change of name.

Based in Flemington, NJ and founded in 2002, PharmaStrat is known for its innovative methods and a focus on and insights covering multiple stakeholders. Burlington, MA-based Decision Resources, which already has more than 450 employees worldwide, says the buy will significantly expand its market access capabilities. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

At the beginning of last year, the company bought mid-size pharma market specialist BioTrends, also for an undisclosed sum.

Meanwhile Decision Resources, Inc. has changed its name to Decision Resources Group, which it says 'better reflects the organic and acquisition growth strategy that is the mainstay of the Company's vision'.

PharmaStrat founder Phil Patrick says of the acquisition: 'We are excited to continue our growth as a Decision Resources Group company. We look forward to continuing to expand our portfolio of client offerings by leveraging its rich intellectual capital.'

Peter Hoenigsberg, CEO of Decision Resources Group, comments: 'Positioning drug brands in a way to maximize reimbursement has become quite possibly the most significant issue for pharmaceutical companies today. PharmaStrat brings to Decision Resources Group unparalleled expertise in this area.'

PharmaStrat will remain at its current HQ location. Web sites are at www.pharmastrat.com and www.decisionresourcesgroup.com .
