Kantar Brings in Engineer for Videolytics Role

Kantar Video has appointed Leigh Newsome as Senior Vice President, Technology, reporting directly to CEO Bill Lederer and tasked with overseeing engineering for the Kantar Videolytics platform.

Newsome's new role includes engineering management, product development and partner integration for the expansion of the Videolytics platform. He brings nearly twenty years' experience in product innovation for digital media. He spent seven years at Avid company Digidesign before co-founding music and audio syndication specialist AirSpun, taking the role of CTO. Most recently, he was SVP, Product for a mobile video sharing service, Thwapr Inc.

His credits also include various mobile video patents pending, the development of a streaming media web application for Apple's first iPhone, and an adjunct professorship at New York University where he teaches the development and delivery of multimedia web and mobile content.

Lederer describes Newsome as 'an accomplished technical player-coach with vision and experience in the digital media space'.

The Videolytics Platform is currently in Beta with major media, technology and advertiser partners, with a launch scheduled for the next few months. The platform measures and analyzes online and mobile video advertising and programs, and offers marketers content identification, tracking and optimization.
