Gartner Buys Senexx Q&A Platform

July 1 2014

Technology research and analysis specialist Gartner has acquired cloud-based Israeli question and answer platform Senexx. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Gene HallFounded in 2011 by Zeevi Michel, Senexx has developed a platform which uses natural language queries to provide information about sources of knowledge and information across the enterprise. Last year, the firm expanded to Palo Alto in the US, and launched a new Q&A collaboration platform called SolvePath, which allows users to ask questions in their natural languages, explore topics, and find experts from within their organization's existing e-mail, instant messaging or internal social networks.

Gartner says it will use Senexx's expertise to enhance its own web search capability, content recommendation engine and proprietary platforms, and is currently investing to expand Senexx's operations in Tel Aviv, recruiting senior software engineers and data scientists. Gartner CEO Gene Hall (pictured) comments: 'We will work with Senexx's talented leadership team to invest in the development of their innovative platform to benefit our clients, while minimizing disruption to their business throughout the integration process.'
