Lee to Step Down as Ipsos Hong Kong MD

August 22 2014

Darleen Lee is to leave her role as MD of Ipsos in Hong Kong and relocate back to New York City. She will be succeeded by Mick Gordon, who currently serves as MD of Ipsos India.

Darleen LeeLee (pictured) joined Synovate in 2011 as MD of Retail and Lifestyle research in Greater China, having previously served as MD of TNS in Taiwan, and worked for the company as Greater China Head of Customized Research and VP Marketing & Operations in New York. She took up her most recent position, following Ipsos' 2011 takeover of Synovate.

Lifeng Liu, CEO Ipsos Asia Pacific, comments: 'Darlene has created a strong culture of innovation and business development as well as taking on various regional accountabilities, and she helped transform Ipsos Hong Kong into the regional hub for thought leadership and innovation in the industry. She will be greatly missed by all.'

Gordon has served as MD of Ipsos in India since November 2011, having previously served as MD of Synovate India. He began his market research career in 1996 when he joined Sample Surveys in Kent, UK, and he was Finance Director of the firm when it was acquired by Synovate in 2002. He then became Finance Director at Synovate before becoming Head of Business Services and leading the Consumer Services account group.

Liu adds: 'Given his reputation for ensuring quality deliverables to clients and taking care of his teams, Mick is the right person to succeed Darlene for this critical market for Ipsos in APAC.'
