Hansa Cequity to Launch Training Institute and Tool

July 13 2015

Fresh from a big investment last month, Mumbai, India-based analytics and research company Hansa Customer Equity (Hansa Cequity) is to set up a customer marketing institute offering training in data science, technology, digital and campaign management.

The firm, incubated and launched in 2008 by former iContract leader S Swaminathan and former HDFC Bank CMO Ajay Kelkar, has developed a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offering to enable customer-intelligence on demand and drive real-time marketing. In mid-June, it announced that it had raised Rs 30 crore (c.$US 4.5m) from PE firm ASK Pravi, and said this would drive expansion both geographically and into new verticals.

Swaminathan is now Chief Executive, and the firm has offices in four Indian cities - Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai - as well as in Chicago. Kelkar, the firm's COO, told news site www.business-standard.com talks were ongoing with various international universities regarding the foundation of the training institute, which would be 'launched in Mumbai within the next six months'.

Kelkar says the company has developed a new platform called Cequity SocialSmarts, now in beta with a small number of clients in the banking, retail and automotive sectors, comprising an API farm and middleware which taps into consumer data from the main social media platforms. Due for launch in the next three months, the platform brings together customers' transaction data and their social media behaviour to create 'an actionable database of intents'.

The company's own figures, from a recent study collaboration with Nasscom, project growth in the global business analytics market from around $41bn in 2014 to c.$67bn by 2019.
