New US Firm Offers Marketing Based on 'Agile' MR

In Seattle, former Microsoft Director Jessica Jobes has launched a new marketing agency, OnTheGrid, LLC, which will offer inbound marketing services based on an understanding of customers derived from interviews.

Jobes worked at Microsoft for thirteen years, split evenly between marketing and engineering roles, and spent the last year working with small businesses. Her inspiration for OnTheGrid's research approach however comes partly from a competitor of the software giant. Google Ventures uses a 'research sprint' method with its successful start-up firms, which takes 5 days start-to-finish and involves the client's own team in the interviewing. Similarly, OnTheGrid partners with its client and conducts 5 Customer Interviews, rapidly delivering videos and insights.

'If you're a business and you're sending out messages, you must know who you're communicating with' says Jobes, 'and speak directly to them in order to break through and be heard... If 5 customer interviews is a reliable way for the best startups to grow, why wouldn't it be a necessary tool for all companies?'
