UKOM Hires Julie Forey as Director of Insight

UKOM, the cross-industry organisation set up to oversee the measurement of online audiences, has appointed Microsoft veteran Julie Forey as its first Director of Insight.

Julie ForeyJointly run by the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) and Association of Online Publishers (AOP), UKOM (UK Online Measurement) represents media owners, with oversight by the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (ISBA) on behalf of advertisers, and the IPA on behalf of agencies. A year ago, UKOM extended comScore's contract to act as its exclusive partner in the UK until at least April 2018.

Forey (pictured) joins from AOL, where she had served as Senior Insight Manager of the AOL/Microsoft ad partnership since last August. Prior to this, she spent thirteen years at Microsoft, latterly as Global Consumer Insights Senior Manager, and earlier as Head of UK Research & Analytics. Forey began her career as an SRE at NOP, before spending five years at ITV (Carlton Television) as Research Group Head. During her career, she has served as a member of UKOM's technical group, and she has a long-standing relationship with comScore, having partnered with the firm on various UK and global measurement projects while at Microsoft and AOL.

In her new position, Forey is tasked with driving awareness and understanding of UKOM and its capabilities. CEO Ian Dowds comments on the appointment: 'Julie brings a depth of expertise and a real enthusiasm for the kind of insight that the UKOM endorsed comScore data can provide. Her work will make UKOM even more relevant and valuable to the entire digital marketplace'.
