OfficeReports Links Excel and PowerPoint Data

May 31 2016

Danish software product OfficeReports, which converts Microsoft PowerPoint and Word into 'a complete data analysis and reporting suite for surveys', has introduced a function which links data from Excel ranges to PowerPoint tables, charts and shapes.

Torben LaustsenThe product, which was launched in June 2013 by the creators of data collection survey software tool TricTrac, Torben Laustsen and Fred Balkenende, converts the Microsoft software into survey analysis and reporting programmes which can read in raw data and output complex cross-tabular and statistical analysis.

The latest feature uses background colours from Excel to enable to create 'conditional formatting' for native PowerPoint tables and charts. Specific texts in Excel can be linked as logos in PowerPoint, and specific background colors as icons. As well as linking data to tables and charts, the tool can now link data to shapes.

Commenting on the launch, Laustsen (pictured) said: 'Without having to compromise on the layout, updating monthly reports will only take minutes using OfficeReports. Besides saving time, the automation results in a higher quality due to less human errors'.
