Mindshare Hires Nielsen's Cheryl Idell

WPP-owned media agency network Mindshare has appointed former Nielsen EVP Cheryl Idell to run its West Coast operations.

Cheryl IdellIdell (pictured) joins after more than eight years at Nielsen, latterly as EVP, Client Solutions - in this role she developed media analytics and research products and solutions, managed all aspects of Nielsen's relationship with Disney, and oversaw a dedicated client service and sales team. Earlier, she led the 200+ person Nielsen Content business, which offered tracking, pilot/ad testing, and customer research and consulting for TV and movie studios, and digital content distributors. Prior to this, she worked at 20th Century Fox as EVP, Media & Marketing Planning; was President of IAG Research (now Nielsen TV Brand Effect); and EVP, Chief Strategic and Research Officer at Initiative Media.

In her new, Los Angeles-based role, Idell will also have responsibility for the Portland office and the newly launched San Francisco operation.
