Nielsen Location and Site Solutions Sold to EA

Nielsen has sold assets relating to its US-based location and site products and services to marketing services and data analytics firm Environics Analytics (EA). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Nielsen Location and Site Solutions Sold to EAToronto-headquartered EA provides trade area analysis, market reporting, customer analytics and site evaluation services to hundreds of organizations across North America. The firm has an ongoing alliance with Nielsen (formerly Claritas), and recently acquired certain assets from Nielsen Canada, allowing it to integrate the latter's Spectra consumer segmentation and targeting services.

Nielsen is now transferring its site and location assets to EA, saying that EA will be 'better positioned' to serve clients' site and location business needs. For the next twelve months, Nielsen client service representatives, along with EA team members, will continue to support and deliver results to current customers. In addition, EA will introduce new products and services - both software solutions and new databases - that 'enhance and expand the utility of existing products and services'.
