dunnhumby Makes Move to New HQ

October 3 2016

Consumer data giant dunnhumby has moved around 800 staff into a new global HQ building in Shepherds Bush Road, Hammersmith, London.

The dunnhumby buildingThe moved was announced in July 2013, since when the company has been through uncertain times, with financial scandal at its parent firm Tesco leading to discussions of a possible sale of the profitable division, beginning around two years ago. Both WPP and Nielsen were among the big names interested in acquiring it, but sale plans were scrapped a year ago.

dunnhumby's architects Collado Collins have spent three years converting and developing the Grade II listed building, which was built in 1916 and was originally a Model T Ford factory (Henry Ford, he of the apocryphal 'faster horse' comment, would no doubt have raised eyebrows at the thought of 800 people moving in dedicated to analysing consumer data). Since then the building has been a Citroen garage and an Access Self Storage facility. It now boasts an extra three floors of office space and a distinctive domed glass roof.

In the summer, the building was the main winner in the Hammersmith Society's 2016 Environment Awards, according to www.shepherdsbushw12.com , which quotes CEO Simon Hay as 'thrilled' with the move to a 'perfect building that has lots of character'. The company has signed a 15-year lease with the option to extend.
