Former Cablevision Execs Buy AMG, Launch 605

November 10 2016

Former Cablevision executives Kristin Dolan and Ben Tatta have acquired data analytics firm Analytics Media Group (AMG), and launched a new audience measurement and analytics business called 605. Terms of the buy have not been disclosed.

Kristin DolanDolan (pictured) was previously COO of Cablevision, leading all aspects of the company's cable operations and overseeing thousands of employees; while Tatta most recently served as President of Cablevision Media Sales, where he was responsible for overall media sales strategy, technology, budget and results. They are joined by AMG co-founder Chauncey McLean, who serves as Executive Vice President of Client Solutions at 605.

The acquisition of AMG has been made through investment firm Dolan Family Ventures, and combines AMG's technology and analytics expertise with its set-top box data, to establish the new company, 605. This new business will use data-driven, census-based audience measurement to provide more granular analysis and deliver insights to programmers, brands and advertisers in the media, sports and entertainment industries.

Dolan, who serves as 605 CEO, comments: 'The acquisition of AMG and the subsequent launch of 605 immediately establishes a company with real scale, significant resources, profound analytic capabilities, extensive set-top box data and management experience. 605 is creating a new generation of products and services to enhance media buying, planning, programming and audience targeting. This fills a critical need for media and entertainment businesses in today's rapidly changing viewing landscape'.
