Senior Shuffle and Restructure for Quadrangle

November 21 2016

Quadrangle has undergone a restructure involving the promotion of Adrian Ward and Jenny Betteridge to Director roles, creating two client-facing teams, and re-defining the role of the partners with a focus on mentoring directors and supporting the teams.

John GamblesLondon-based Quadrangle was founded in 1987 by ad industry execs John Gambles and Christine Hastings, as a specialist unit within the WCRS Group. In 1990 the firm was bought out by management, re-focusing on market research, and it now offers a full service specialising in brand planning and customer strategy, with its own data collection division called RED (formerly known as FieldWorks).

Ward joined in 2010 from Aurora Market Research; and Betteridge joined in 2011, having previously worked for Which? and TNS Worldpanel. Their promotions bring the total number of directors to twelve; alongside six partners and one non-executive; and follow the departure of former Group CEO Nick Baker, who will not be replaced. The firm's two new teams will be led by Jo Farquhar, who was previously a Director at TNS Australia and an AD at GfK NOP; and Peter Hasler, who before joining in 2012 held senior roles at The Licensing Company, Ipos MORI and Southern Tourist Board.

Quadrangle has also rolled out the second stage of its leadership development programme, introduced a 'fast-track' element into its graduate recruitment programme, and launched a well-being strategy which includes the appointment of a company nutritionist.

Commenting on the changes, Gambles (pictured) said: 'Nine years ago, in September 2007, we shifted Quadrangle's centre of gravity away from management consultancy into the research space. Since then, our clients have seen tremendous change in their markets: digital has established itself in the space between them and their customers, displacing previous habits, loyalties and relationships and creating new norms. All this dials up the importance of understanding 'what matters' to customers and makes customer know-how the crucial source of competitive advantage'.
