Tom Markert Takes CEO Role at ORC International

Full service agency ORC International has hired Nielsen veteran Tom Markert as Chief Executive Officer and Global Product Development Lead, based in its New York office.

Tom MarkertORC International is part of marcoms network Engine Group and offers a range of custom, employee, market and strategy research. Markert (pictured) joins from Research Now, where he served as EVP of Sales & Business Development in the Americas. Before this, he was CEO of full service marketing agency Digital Tailwind, and he worked at Office Depot as SVP of Strategy and Innovation. Earlier in his career, Markert spent more than twenty years at Nielsen, where he held a number of positions including SVP of Client Services; President - Canada; Group CEO - Pacific; CMO - Asia Pacific; Global Chief Marketing and Client Services Officer; and President of ACNielsen Loyalty. He also served as CEO of Ipsos Loyalty Worldwide.

In his new position, Markert will be responsible for developing strategy, as well as maintaining client relationships, and managing all product development, including several of the company's ongoing data reports and surveys. He will report to Rick Eiserman, CEO of Engine Group North America, who comments: 'Tom's proven leadership skills and ability to thrive in highly dynamic organizations make him a valued addition to ORC's leadership team.
