Nielsen Announces Canadian Drinks 'Firsts'

Nielsen is to conduct the 'first' independent measurement of syndicated retail level off-premise sales data for the beer, wine and spirits categories in the Canadian province of Alberta. This is also the first time Nielsen will to provide spirit measurement data in Canada.

Mike LjubicicThe announcement follows the firm's launch of measurement capabilities of beer and wine sales in Ontario in 2016, and adds to existing measures in Quebec and Ontario. Nielsen says access to this information will provide retailers and manufacturers with a more comprehensive understanding of consumers' shopping behavior across the categories.
