Verisk Buys Wind and Solar Power Analyst MAKE

US data firm Verisk Analytics has acquired Danish wind and solar power market intelligence and advisory business MAKE. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Neal AndersonMAKE, which has also has offices Germany, the US and China, combines research, forecasting and data analysis for a multi-faceted view of the global wind-power industry. Following the acquisition, MAKE will become part of Verisk Analytics business Wood Mackenzie, adding additional detailed coverage of power market information, solar, wind, energy storage and grid edge technologies to the latter firm's renewables research and advisory solution.

The latest deal expands on Verisk's recent acquisition of electricity and renewables sector information provider Greentech Media. Neal Anderson (pictured), President of Wood Mackenzie, comments: 'Decarbonization is the defining trend in the energy industry today, and Wood Mackenzie is building a preeminent position to offer our clients the latest thinking in the renewables sector. MAKE's expertise in wind and solar power complements both Greentech Media's expertise and our own existing practice'.
