Informa Picks Veal to Lead Pharma Consulting Division

June 27 2017

UK-based Informa Group has appointed oncology specialist Richard S. Veal as Global Director of its Pharma Consulting division.

Informa Pharma Intelligence offers a suite of analysis products including Datamonitor Healthcare, Sitetrove, Trialtrove, Pharmaprojects, Medtrack, Biomedtracker, Scrip, Pink Sheet and In Vivio - and employs more than 500 analysts

Veal has spent the last four years as SVP and then Director of Strategic Planning at healthcare communications firm Sudler & Hennessey. Prior to this he was Vice President at creative healthcare agency Digitas Health, leading a practice across a portfolio of solid and blood cancer products in US and global markets.

In his new role, he will lead the division across all its arms, from R&D strategy and commercial optimization to portfolio management; and will lead the development of tailored, long-term business strategies for global clients in big pharma, mid-tier, generics and biotech.

His experience includes developing brand strategy; pipeline, franchise and disease state planning; and strategic and consultancy capabilities including war gaming, brand positioning, strategic planning and executive workshops.

Tim Polack, Head of Consulting for Informa Business Intelligence, says of the new arrival: 'With his expertise across an impressively broad range of specialisms, Richard will be incredibly valuable to the business. We pride ourselves on developing truly personalized solutions for our clients and Richard has a proven track-record when it comes to understanding a brand and advising on its position in the market'.
