Megabucks for Kids Platform SuperAwesome

July 24 2017

UK-based, kids-focused digital media platform SuperAwesome has received new growth capital - reportedly around £20m - from Mayfair Equity Partners.

SuperAwesome bills itself as 'the largest kids' digital media platform in the world', reaching over 500 million under-13s each month across mobile, web and online video. Its technology promises kid-safe advertising, safe social media, family authentication and COPPA compliance for hundreds of brands and publishers around the world. Its individual brands and solutions include the AwesomeAds platform, Kids Web Services, PopJam and the recently launched COPPA-compliant safe programmatic advertising solution REX.

The company was founded in 2013 by current CEO Dylan Collins, employs more than 80 staff and is headquartered in London with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Singapore and Sydney. Sources quoted by Sky News said that Mayfair was investing roughly £20m for a minority stake in SuperAwesome, which has earmarked it for entering new markets, expanding coverage in existing areas and developing new client solutions.

Collins comments: 'The kids' digital media market is one of the fastest growing in the world. As our technology and products increasingly become the industry standard for kid-safe digital engagement, Mayfair's investment allows us to truly scale the company to meet the size of this opportunity. We've been incredibly impressed by the Mayfair team and look forward to running fast together'.

Mayfair's Managing Partner Daniel Sasaki says his firm's investment and involvement will help accelerate SuperAwesome's growth and development, and believes it will 'continue to be a disruptor in the digital sector'.
