Launch of Media Insights Platform Wicket Scorecard

Seattle, US-based start-up Wicket Labs has launched an audience insights platform for media and entertainment companies, called Wicket Scorecard - and has announced a $2m seed financing round.

Marty RobertsThe firm was set up last year by Ian Blaine, the founder of online video publishing company thePlatform (acquired by Comcast in 2006), his co-CEO Marty Roberts, and tech exec Eric Knutson. The new Wicket Scorecard brings together data from the entire video ecosystem, and helps media companies pinpoint, reach and measure their target video customers. The platform also delivers stats and trends relating to audience lifetime value, customer acquisition costs and engagement.

New funding has been led by Madrona Venture Group, Divergent Ventures and several unnamed angels. Roberts (pictured), who serves as company CEO, comments: 'The Wicket Scorecard is designed to inform decisions and grow an audience's lifetime value, through more trial-to-customer conversions, longer subscription terms and more frequent visits. We believe a data-driven decision process will be a key determinant in any successful media business'.
